Are you looking for something fun to do this weekend? Why not head down to Kansas City for one of the greatest barbecue competitions/festivals known to man. May 21st and 22nd will be host to the 6th annual Great American Barbecue Festival at the Wyandotte County Park at Beautiful Capital Federal Park (or Sandstone Amphitheater for those familiar with the KC area). There will be plenty of activities on site to enterain the family, including a carnival, a dedicated Kidz Zone, food/equipment vendors, live music, fireworks, and even a book signing by yours truly!!!

Just like last year at the GAB, we’ve got a few items planned for you Bacon Explosion fans. Throughout the whole weekend we’ll have a book vendor on site selling copies of BBQ Makes Everything Better directly out of our competition site where we’ll be happy to sign your copy. You’ll probably work up an appetite by flipping through those pages, so we’ll also be selling Bacon Explosion sandwiches as well. A local boy scout troop will be handling all of the food service as a fund raiser, so swing by and purchase a Bacon Explosion sandwich to help them earn enough money to get a trailer for their philanthropic projects!!!

Over the last year and half we’ve been working non-stop on developing our first cookbook “BBQ Makes Everything Better“. All those sleepless nights are about to pay off as we’re quickly approaching May 4th, the official release date for our first book.

We do include the tips and techniques that every backyard cook should posses, but our focus in on creating delicious, mouth-watering meals through simple and easy-to-follow recipes. These are the dishes we’ve cooked for our friends and families for years, and now we’re thrilled to finally share them with you!

We’re putting the final touches on everything right now, so be on the lookout for it’s release in the coming days.

And last, but certainly not least, the BBQ Addicts will be heading to New York City to promote BBQ Makes Everything Better on NBC’s TODAY Show. We’ll be cooking on live national television on the morning on May 7th. So tune in to get a glimpse of Aaron taunting Al Roker with a hot Bacon Explosion, and to also get a sneak peak at a few of the recipes included in our new book!
